Odor Control ProductsThere are many causes of odors. The key to solving your odor problem is to first identify the cause of the odor and then to find the appropriate product that will address that cause. Not all odor control products work the same way. For example, some products kill odor-causing bacteria, while others neutralize the unpleasant smell. Read "Types of Odor Control Products" below.

Search the online ICA Store using the following subcategories to find the right product(s) to address your particular odor-control situation:

Disinfecting & Air Sanitizing Products: Disinfecting products use an antimicrobial to kill odor-causing bacteria. These products help to inhibit the growth of molds and mildews.

Enzymes & Live Bacteria: These products are used to speed up the decaying process. While such products work slow, they can be very effective when used in the proper environments and if the correct product is chosen for the job.

Absorption Products: Absorption involves the physical penetration or bonding of an odor to the inner molecular structure of the products.

Adsorption Products: These products are effective for many airborne gases and work to draw the odor into themselves until the products are saturated.

Neutralization Products: Neutralization involves using a milder but pleasant odor to counteract an unwanted odor.

Desensitization Products: These products function to desensitize one's ability to detect an odor so that no odor is perceived.

When addressing an odor problem, it is important to remove all contaminants first (e.g. urine, feces, decaying matter, garbage, etc.)

Apply odor-controlling chemicals to a dry surface. Most treatments are most effective when applied to a dry surface because of air pockets blocking the penetration of the product.

Read your product's label and follow the directions carefully!
